College Club of Boston is established.

December 15, 1890

Founded by 19 members of the National Association of Collegiate Alumnae (today’s American Association of University Women), it meets initially at 76 Marlborough Street. The oldest women’s college club in the U.S., its purpose is to promote “sociability and companionship” for college women, as well as provide temporary lodging. The club moves to 44 Commonwealth Avenue in 1925.
